Travelers passing through Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall — BWI Marshall — Airport this winter can view the work of a local artist showcased in the Youth Art Gallery.

Nicole Nnaemeka, a third-grade student at William B. Wade Elementary School, submitted an oil pastel selected to be featured in the Maryland Art Education Association (MAEA) BWI Fall 2024 Exhibition. Nnaemeka is a student in Susanti Martinez’s art class at Wade, and her selected work was created during an oil pastel blending lesson in second grade.

“Nicole is one of those students who always follows the directions and instruction in art,” Martinez said. “She is willing to help other students.”

A reception for the MAEA exhibition will be held Nov. 2 at the airport in Baltimore. The Youth Art Gallery is in the BWI Marshall Airport Observation Gallery adjacent to the B/C security checkpoint on the upper level.
