This fun family event is presented in collaboration with CCPS Community Schools, Stoddert Middle School, Thomas Stone High School, and Dr. Samuel A. Mudd Elementary School.

Today, our Dragons kicked off their first House meeting of the 2026–2027 school year. Students gathered with their House members to learn about their House culture, values, traditions, and what makes each House unique.
They also learned and practiced their House chants and put teamwork into action with a fun cup-stacking challenge. It was exciting to see students encouraging one another, working together, and beginning to build their House pride.
What a great way to start a year of teamwork, belonging, positive relationships, and House spirit at Dr. Mudd!

Learning and Growing in Pre-K
Our Pre-K students have been busy learning through hands-on activities and classroom practice.
Students explored rainbow colors through a fun learning activity and also practiced important early literacy skills such as writing, identifying letters, and completing their work independently.
These everyday classroom moments help build confidence, curiosity, and a strong foundation for learning.

Today we wrapped up our Attendance Awareness Month Spirit Week with Attendance Hero Day. Our students and staff showed off their favorite superhero shirts and helped us end the week with lots of school spirit.

The Charles County Department of Health School-Based Dental Program is partnering with local schools to help make preventive dental care more accessible for eligible students during the school day.
Services may include oral health screenings, fluoride varnish, dental sealant referrals, oral health education, and follow-up support when additional care is needed.
Parents and guardians will need to complete and return the consent form before their child can participate.
Please review the Parent Newsletter for more information about the program, services, and how your child can participate.

Today was a big milestone for our youngest Dragons! Some arrived excited and ready to explore, while others had a few teary-eyed moments.
